Amazing Fantasy to Slab or not to Slab?

Do I Slab?

Do I Slab?

I am not a collector. I have an old trunk with many of my childhood toys and junk tucked away in it. The trunk itself is very old and beautiful. It sits in my foyer as a peice of art. I dicided to go through it one day. Under a baby blanket (my mom made for me when a was a tot) were some old comics I had read as a kid. Two of them seem to be of quite some value now. Amazing Fantasy and The Amazing Spider Man. Tomorrow, I am going to ComicCon here in Las Vegas to get an education. I will go the the CGS booth and will also look for the PGX exhibit as well. Any thoughts? I'll keep you posted on how it all goes.

To Slab or not from Dave

Well, Anthony, now that I have some time and in doing a little research, I have some numbers for you. First did you find helpful info at the Comiccon you were going too?

Anyway, the Amazing Fantasy #15 (first appearance of Spider-Man) that you have, according to the Overstreet Guide is worth $7000 to $350,000 depending on physical condition (2.0 - 9.2). But in 2011 a 9.6 copy sold for $1.1 million (hot dog!!).

The Amazing Spider-man #2 is worth $433 to $13,000, again depending on condition.

Both of these comic books are well worth putting more time and effort into trying to auction off. If you are interested in more help contact me at ifdgdw@gmail.com. And I am extremely interested in what you found out at comiccon, if you went.

Good luck and hope to hear from you.

To Slab or not

Oh, and definitely consider getting the comic book slabbed, if it is worth a fair amount of money. I can also help you with that.
